The thirst for knowledge is real, and the quest for freebies is undeniable. Many tech enthusiasts are drawn to events offering freebies, free food, and swag, hoping that this generosity will fuel their progress. But here’s the catch—freebies can only take you so far. Anyway, this is a talk for another day. Lol

Recently, I had a heartfelt conversation with someone who, after a year of learning, felt stuck. It made me ponder: What if the stumbling block isn’t the lack of resources but the absence of a clear purpose?

Much like navigating through Lagos traffic, you plan your journey based on your destination and why you need to be there. The mode of transportation becomes a secondary concern. Similarly, in your tech journey, understanding your “why” is your compass. It provides purpose and direction, ensuring you don’t deviate or lose heart along the way. Consider it the destination on your tech roadmap. Your focus shouldn’t solely be on the mode of transportation or the cost; instead, it should revolve around why it’s worth the effort.

To extract the maximum value from your tech career, begin with your “why.” Define the purpose behind acquiring a specific skill. This clarity will serve as your driving force, preventing you from veering off course or succumbing to discouragement. Ask yourself why this skill is crucial for your current career juncture. Imagine the impact on your professional trajectory if you fail to reach the finish line.

I believe that learning without a clear purpose is akin to wandering without a compass. It’s easy to get misled, and the risk of abandoning your career becomes all too real.

Starting with “why” not only aligns your “what” and “how” but also provides a roadmap, ensuring that each learning endeavor is meaningful and purposeful

So, here’s the key takeaway for you: your journey, challenges, and victories will be uniquely yours, shaped by the purpose you’ve defined.

As always, stay curious, stay focused, and remember to always “start with why.".

I wish you purposeful learning and success!

Stay inspired
